Posture & Pain Relief

Release. Strengthen. Lengthen.

Forget everything you think you know about massage. Posture and Pain Relief is done on the floor, fully clothed (no awkward undressing!) while Eric uses his feet to release muscles in the lower body so everything above it can move freely.

Feet? Yep! Weird? Maybe. Effective? Absolutely.

It’s not Thai.

It’s not Ashiatsu.

Resistance stretching

Posture and Pain Relief uses resistance stretching to lengthen and strengthen at the same time. If you’re tired of doing yoga all day, every day, and not feeling better, your body isn’t the problem. Lasting change happens when your muscles are engaged as they lengthen- and that’s exactly what resistance stretching does.

Massage Therapist Eric Fair-Layman walks on the back of a woman's legs. She is laying comfortably on the floor, face down, with her head turned to the right.

From the ground up:

When it comes to posture, it starts with the lower body and is where most of the work is needed*. This might surprise you, but restrictions in your legs have a huge impact on how everything stacks up above the waist- including your neck and shoulders. Posture and Pain Relief focuses on the lower body first, with frequent reassessing so we always know what’s working and what’s not.

Did you say feet?

Yep! If you’re a little leary about getting stepped on, you’re not the first. It sounds unusual- and it is. But there is a method to it. Using his feet allows Eric to sink into muscles with broad, comfortable pressure while the soothing rhythm helps your nervous system settle. (Don’t worry, his socks are clean.)

“My first session with Eric was easily one of the most therapeutic experiences I've ever had. His work goes really deep into the tissues is very unique and effective -- I noticed a dramatic difference right away in how my body felt. I only wish I lived closer to him so I could see him more often!”
