We’re Eric Fair-Layman and Erin Boyt, a bodywork duo in Portland, OR with over 30 years combined experience helping people reduce pain, reset their nervous system, and calm down the fight-or-flight response when it’s stuck in overdrive.

I believe everyone deserves to move well.

I grew up in a world where science and creativity meet. Where climbing trees and riding horses were part of daily life. Where I was (and still) am driven by insatiable curiosity about humans, how and why we move our bodies the way we do, and what it means to move well.

Over the last 20 years, I’ve been a dancer, choreographer, personal trainer, somatic practitioner, barefoot coach, and CranioSacral Therapist. In that time, I’ve noticed a pattern: when people are not in pain, they are kinder, more compassionate, and more creative humans. They are better able to connect with themselves and others. And that is the first step to making the world better.

Changing the world starts with the individual.

I’m only on this earth a short time and I want to leave the world better than I found it. If I leave one thing behind, I want to reduce pain and suffering- and amplify joy and creativity- as much as I can while I’m here.

In the winter of 2023, we sat across from each other during a writing meetup at The Stacks Coffeehouse. After a few months of working up the courage, Erin finally asked him out. Our friendship started with shared a love of writing, poetry, whiskey and eventually, each other.

When Erin had to move out of her workspace, Eric offered her a landing spot in his home office. We discovered we work well together, not just as life partners, but as business partners and creative collaborators. With Eric’s unique style of massage and Erin’s gentle CranioSacral touch, we found we could help more people when we worked together. As we built a life together, we decided to make it “official” by combining our practices and offering the Total Body Reset. (And getting married!)
